The City of Zachary is located only 14 miles north of downtown Baton Rouge. With the presence of major employers such as Georgia-Pacific, BASF, ExxonMobil, Great Southern Galvanizing, Entergy and Lane Regional Medical Center.

Zachary’s central location, north of the State Capitol, the City of Baton Rouge, is a few miles from I-110 and US Hwy 61. East-West commerce is simplified via the Audubon Bridge, which has helped to make US Hwy 61 a major link between South Louisiana and the central part of the State.  I-110 connects travelers to I-10 and I-12 in Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport is conveniently located less than 15 minutes from Zachary. Baton Rouge Metro Airport serves as a regional hub for American, Delta, United and US Airways.

Neighborhoods

Zachary boasts a combination of old, new, traditional and modern, single family and multi-family dwellings. Copper Mill, a first-class golf course community is designed around the award-winning 18-hole, par-72 Copper Mill Golf Course.

New and mature neighborhoods like Lake Point and Pointe South, Audubon Lakes, Live Oak Trace, Oak Grove Estates, Ravenwood, Fennwood Hills, Americana, Claremont Estates, Windsor Place and Richland adorn the Zachary landscape. Persons have a unique cross section in style of housing choices

Shopping/Dining

An assortment of locally owned stores, boutiques as well as well-known national retailers make shopping in Zachary convenient, diverse and enjoyable. Zachary boasts some of the best restaurants from Cajun to Creole; traditional, non-traditional, representing all cultures and flairs. Whether enjoying a speedy breakfast, leisurely lunch or a quiet dinner, a diverse selection of dining opportunities await you.  

Recreation

The Zachary Youth Park provides facilities for children, baseball, softball and football and a half-mile walking track. The BREC organization recently completed the first phase of a 12 signature Community Park on a 40-plus acre piece of land adjacent to the Youth Park. Pedestrian connections have been made between parks that greatly expand leisure opportunities for the entire area. A soccer complex located at Flanacher Road hosts fall soccer leagues from across the State.

A variety of gyms and other fitness facilities can be found in Zachary. Jazzercise, martial arts, dance, gymnastics, skateboarding and many other programs are available for youth and the young at heart. In addition, Copper Mill, Beaver Creek and Fenwood Hills offer challenging golfing opportunities for the savvy golfer or the innovative beginner.

The East Baton Rouge Library boasts a branch on Main Street in Zachary where programs and educational activities are regularly offered to the community.

Bennett's Water Ski School draws students from all over the world to its year-round facility. Bennett's also hosts regional and national water ski competitions.

The Zachary Historic Village offers a glimpse of the southern American lifestyle during the late 1800s and early 1900s. With a variety of different restored houses, including the original Zachary Depot, Zachary Town Hall and Fire House, all house exhibits and programs detailing unique period themes. The Historic Village offers an entertaining, educational experience for kids and adults alike.

The Baton Rouge Zoo is located minutes away in Baker and features year-round entertainment for children and adults alike.
